Starting from November 1st, 2025, the new Chair of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML), led by Prof. Dr. Thomy Phan, is joining the Computer Science department at the University of Bayreuth (UBT).

The UBT AI/ML chair will conduct research on multi-agent optimization to devise advanced AI technologies for the next generation of AI systems. The chair will also expand the UBT teaching portfolio by offering new courses, theses, and projects on AI and machine learning.
